The QC Microbiology Tech samples raw materials and final products, and performs are variety of microbiological and wet chemistry testing in support of the cGMP manufacturing operations. Testing includes sterility and bioburden testing, toxicity testing, microbial titrations, water testing, viable and nonviable particulate monitoring, and water testing. This position requires attention to detail, good aseptic technique, use of a computer for email and data reporting, and the ability to follow procedures. The position also provides back up support for the Lab Tech and QC Line Inspector positions.


Job Roles required of the position include
Microbiologist, Clean/Sanitization of Lab: Performs testing and performs various activities in support of these job roles, and works with lab team to ensure compliance to procedures. Assumes accountability for work performed. Assists in peer review of reports and documents for compliance to requirements. Ensures Sterility Suite maintains Class 10K operating conditions.
Lab Tech: Provides back up to support activities for Lab Techs as assigned by the area manager including media preparation, logging area and incubatory temperatures, sampling of raw materials and water, wet chemistry testing, and environmental sampling of classified areas.
QC Line Testing: Provides back up for QC Line Inspectors performing various tests as dictated by master batch records to support release of finished product. Performs visual inspections to ensure finished goods are packaged correctly prior to release. Assumes accountability for work performed. Releases packaging materials to graphic/dimensional specifications for use in manufacturing. Provides support activity to line personnel for break coverage.
Facility Maintenance: Performs this job role in support of laboratory equipment and assumes accountability for the work performed.
Validation: Supports validation activities in manufacturing and the laboratory by testing per written protocol instructions.
DCR System: Actively uses the DCR System to generate or revise document, as needed.
CIMP System: Provides support for continuous improvement and Kaizen events and projects.
NCR System: Supports the nonconformance system through reporting of Nonconformances and supporting Quality in investigation activities. Duties include placing product on QC Hold, pending investigation or OOS or NCR investigations.

Minimum Requirements
Associates degree in biology, chemistry, or related filed preferred. High School diploma or GED considered with additional technical training or college coursework.

Hours are 7:30am-3:30pm or 8:00am-4:30pm
Hourly pay is $15.00 per hour
Long term/temporary to hire possible
