Job Description:

 

You will be working with a team at the “World’s Largest Search Engine” that is responsible for analyzing customer contacts regarding fulfillment issues and driving initiatives to correct the underlying root cause.  You will prioritize projects based on impact to customer experience, cost and ability to scale. You have a strong desire to understand empirical facts and are driven by customer satisfaction. You are a problem solver by nature, a self-starter, and a diligent team player. You can clearly articulate and discuss complex quantitative concepts, and be proactive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.

 

You will plan requirements with internal customers and usher multiple, simultaneous projects through the entire project lifecycle; this includes managing project plans, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders.  This requires an expert knowledge in analytics with superb project management skills and a proven track record of delivering results. Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills, common sense and flexibility are equally valued in this role.  It will also require collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization, so excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must. Attention to detail is critical, but must be balanced with keeping an eye on the big picture to ensure competing dependencies are aligned for key milestone dates.

 

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the technical and operational challenges of e­commerce
  • Recent and solid experience with spreadsheets (Google/Excel) and advanced analysis experience
  • Sound business judgment and ability to influence effectively by presenting data in a compelling way
  • Relevant work experience in an analyst and/or project management role
  • Collaborative with a strong bias for action: Able to work independently or as part of a team and interact professionally with colleagues in a fast-moving organization
  • Detail-oriented, with demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work at speed
  • Have a strong sense of ownership and a desire to develop new skills
  • Possess strong work ethics
  • Self-directed, curious, and intrinsically motivated
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to system and data changes

 

Preferred Qualifications (not required but a big plus):

  • SQL (complex database query; familiar with complex functions such as subquery, joins, union, case, etc.)
  • Statistical analysis languages and packages such as Python, R, Pandas
  • Statistical regression and/or machine learning background desired
  • Tableau (or any other similar data visualization tools)

 

Responsibilities​

  • Validate customer contact data to unlock key insights
  • Gain full comprehension of all fulfillment processes (including the risks and interdependencies with other work streams) to interpret and analyze data
    • Identify trends and propose solutions
    • Suggest improvements based on gaps in existing processes/systems
    • Flag issues with appropriate internal partners and drive cross functional projects to resolve
  • Improve efficiency by designing and developing technical solutions to replace repeated manual work and improve ability to scale
  • Provide accurate, timely, and detailed reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc basis.  The ability to prioritize reports is critical
  • Identify impacts of systematic and operational changes.  Develop and implement plans to accommodate changes and mitigate risk.
  • Escalate findings appropriately and professionally communicate findings in written and oral formats to senior stakeholders.
  • Document, plan, and track all projects using standard project management tools
    • Partner with key stakeholders for alignment on timing, required resources and expected outcomes
