The Quality Assurance Technician (QA Technician) performs a wide variety of tasks to assist in the production of quality flexible magnets which meet or exceed specifications through all stages of manufacturing. The QA Technician supports manufacturing in determining the cause of interruptions to customer requirements.

Duties of Position:
¿ Work in a fast paced environment pulling samples from plant floor; evaluate & test various samples (e.g., in-process & finished product; raw materials, customer samples & samples from customer complaints); perform calibrations
¿ Assist engineering & manufacturing in troubleshooting material / process issues
¿ Understand & perform ISO internal audits, calibrations & document control as needed
¿ Understand & perform Internal & External Quality Audits (BSI)
¿ Ensure the company meets all requirements for ISO Certification
¿ Serve as an integral member of the continuous improvement team
¿ Support users with computer issues
¿ Assist supervisor & lead operator in quality training
¿ Comply with all safety requirements & proper use of PPE
¿ Monitor the Quarantine area
¿ Assist in maintaining the ISO system
¿ Other duties as assigned by supervisor; on the job training will be required in specialized areas

Required Technical/Job Experience & Qualifications:
¿ Must be proficient in Microsoft Access, Excel & Word; report writing
¿ Must have knowledge of operation of servers, desktop & laptop computers

Education Requirements:
¿ High School diploma &/or GED or relevant job experience; Quality Training a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
¿ Ability to use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc. with precision
¿ Ability to following directions carefully, to work quickly & accurately enter data into the computer system
¿ Ability to operate general office equipment
¿ Ability to analyze the cause & effect of material & process variation; make logical conclusions / decision from test data
¿ Ability to create forms, run downloads & repair corrupt databases
¿ Ability to analyze large amounts of data for trends
¿ Ability to work on teams or alone
¿ Must have keen observation skills
¿ Knowledge & understanding of Quality Manuals

Working Conditions:
¿ May be exposed to loud noises, dirt, dust & fumes; working around moving equipment will be encountered
¿ Production floor is not temperature controlled year round

Physical Requirements
¿ Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time

Machines/Equipment Used:
¿ Various lab testing equipment (e.g., Hysteresisgraph, tensile tester, flexibility tester, gauss meters, etc.)
¿ Ability to use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc. with precision

First Year Goals & Expectations:
¿ Improve quality awareness at the operator level
¿ Understanding & ability to perform all QA test equipment
¿ Understanding & ability to test customer returns & samples
¿ Ability to find & research data using Access databases
¿ Willingness to work on a team

5:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (rotation)
