Position Summary: Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

Essential Job Functions:
•Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability stands.

•Selects products for test at specified stages in production process, and test products for variety of qualities, such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.

•Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.

•Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

•Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits or equipment capability.

•(May) Set up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.

•(May) Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.

•(May) Specializes in particular area of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, inventory control, product reliability, research and development, and administrative application.

Job Qualification Requirements:
Training and Experience: Between 2 and 4 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship.
HS/GED Required
2-3 yrs quality control experience
Experience using the above quality tools (See description)

Physical demands: The employee is required to:
-Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
-Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
-Exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.

Visual Acuity: Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.

Working Conditions: Normally works in an office environment. Occasionally, the employee is subject to:
-High noise levels from operating machines
-Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts
-Breathing fumes,
-Dust and mist
-Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid
