Adecco Direct Placement is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a Direct Hire Quality Engineer or Metallurgist Job in Ambridge, PA for our client, a busy steel fabrication manufacturing plant. The Quality Engineer - Metallurgist is responsible for being the Quality Expert, ensuring the quality of the manufactured steel and metal fabricated products meet all customer expectations. This is a hands-on position with the Quality Engineer maintaining integrity of the certified Quality System requirements with lean, cost effective strategies. They will provide and analyze statistical information for Quality improvement by identifying testing methods and samples. This is a hands-on position that offers a salary between $80,000 and $95,000 per year plus a generous benefits plan. A relocation package is available for candidates outside the immediate area.

Requirements for the Quality Engineer-Metallurgist Job in Ambridge, PA are:

Responsible to measure and analyze daily quality performance of the production areas.
Reports to Quality management on the performance of the quality of products.
Verifies together with operations quality of products produced daily and establish actions for contingency in case a non-conforming product was made.
Participate actively in the action plans to determine reasons of non-conforming products.
Verify releasing and dispatch products.
Responsible together with operations of any activity in order to maintain and improve quality of products.
Develops and maintains systems to establish standards and measure performance.
Monitors performance according to standards and informs/communicates/and advises according to performance levels.
Identify improvements of Quality issues across all departments/facilities.
Provide technical expertise in quality when productivity and cost concerns arise.
Investigates quality incidents, reports formal findings, develops corrective measures and reports effectiveness of improved processes.
Assures compliance with all company policies.
Supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate with customers to clarify needs and objectives, and agree on how to achieve the desired results efficiently and effectively in order to develop solutions that address the root cause(s) of performance gaps rather than symptoms or side effects.


Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in metallurgy, materials science, engineering or related field required.
5 years of experience in quality systems and 3 years of related work experience on Automotive or Aerospace Industries.
Preferable knowledge of Pipe and Steel Production.
Business experience with industry quality standards including ISO 9001, AP1 and QS.
Knowledge of Steel Heat Treatment processes.
Deep knowledge of AIAG core tools (SPC, APQP, FMEA, PPAP and MSA) and usage of 8D.
Previous experience in launching processes.
Proven experience in implementing QA programs, systems and processes in heavy manufacturing environment.
Experience of Customer development or customer projects.
Knowledge of Product Engineering or Product Design.
