Quality Inspector

Adecco is assisting a local client recruiting for a Quality Inspector in Middletown, CT. This is a Direct Hire opportunity! As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for performing dimensional and visual inspection of complex in-process and completed machines, cast, molded, and fabricated parts. Responsibilities:

  • Independent inspection of incoming details, subassemblies, and materials
  • Maintain inspection records
  • Verify accuracy of products with manufacturing instructions and engineering drawings
  • Maintaining incoming inspection log
  • Perform ERP transactions
  • Identify and verify nonconforming materials and assist in obtaining dispositions of nonconforming materials
  • Originate and communicate corrective action requests
  • Assist in internal instrumentation calibration
  • Frequently work to tolerances of .0001 or more, using complex inspection equipment
  • Use special equipment or tools, such as tool maker's microscope, coordinate measuring machine, rotary table, sine plate, micro-hardness tester and red liner gear checker, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes
  • Interpret and inspect to engineering drawings, specifications and other approved work documents for such characteristics as functional testing as dimensional configuration, hardness, surface roughness, visual appearance and completion of required operations
  • Record inspection results and complete required paperwork
  • Report discrepancies or conditions that would result in defective products
  • Coordinate with product and quality assurance engineers to communicate and explain non-conforming conditions and obtain necessary corrective action
  • Assist in formulating and reporting recommendations for correction of process to eliminate or reduce percentage of defects

Qualifications:
  • MUST have Geometric Dimension & Tolerance (GD&T) experience
  • Must have experience with first article lay-out
  • At least 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar role in a high-precision environment
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering drawing interpretation and basic inspection equipment
  • Analytical with the ability to make sound decisions and troubleshoot

This is a first shift, Direct Hire opportunity. Pay for this position is based on experience, but is in the range of $25+ per hour.
