Quality Technician

GENERAL SUMMARY

Supports the Quality department with quality related activities. This includes, but is not limited to, IATF certification activities, supplier management, customer quality activities, GP 12 (200% inspection) activities and general QA responsibilities. Works closely with the Production department to ensure adherence to standards, quality training and customer issues. This position will help support in times of high absence or in critical times when there are problems.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. Responsible for performing process audits
  2. Assist with TS/IATF related tasks including paperwork, training and status updates.
  3. Complete IMDS paperwork.
  4. Complete PPAP for customer approval.
  5. Approve finished product by conducting visual inspection or using gauges. Status identify all work performed.
  6. Assist in continual improvement duties.
  7. Responsible for gage calibration program.
  8. Responsible for keeping PFMEA & Control Plan updated.
  9. Responsible for overseeing QC Quarantine areas and RMA’s.
  10. Document inspection results by completing daily spreadsheets.
  11. Interact with other team members on a professional level.
  12. Communicate issues to proper personnel (production team, Quality Manager, etc.).
  13. Perform assembly and packing duties, if necessary.  Assist Quality Inspectors (including reworking parts).
  14. Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
  15. Participate in 5S activities as dictated by the area standard.
  16. Work overtime as required to support attainment of the daily goals.
  17. Other tasks/activities as directed by the President or Plant Manager.

 

 

 

 

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. High School diploma or GED
  2. Minimum of 5 Years of experience in performing Quality duties in a Quality position
  3. Prefer experience in the Automotive Industry in a Quality position working in a manufacturing environment
  4. TS/IATF 16949 knowledge, preferably certified internal auditor
  5. Experience in calibration
  6. Experience working in IMDS
  7. Prefer Toyota Quality System experience
