JOB SUMMARY:

This position controls and assists in the movement and receipt of materials and products, including unpacking/unloading materials and products and operating forklift equipment. Verifies and keeps records on all incoming materials.


KEY DUTIES:

• Receives incoming materials into warehouse and prepares receiving reports.
• Maintains files and data entry transactions for all received materials.
• Verifies incoming materials are as ordered in both type and quantity against purchase order.
• Assures proper storage and handling of incoming materials.
• Unloading, lifting boxes, etc.
• Responsible for transporting component items from the quarantine areas to proper destination/end user.
• Maintain accurate location, identification and access to materials that are located in temporary storage.
• Operates forklifts and order picker and all other warehouse equipment in a safe and cautious manner.
• Comply with FDA, QSR and ISO regulations as required.
• May be required to work non-standard shifts and weekends to support department needs.
• Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of warehousing experience (previous FDA regulated environment experience preferred).
• Knowledge of Infor/MAPICS software helpful
Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Abilities:
• Ability to read, understand and follow all company standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines.
• Must be certified to handle hazardous materials/DOT compliant within one year of hire.
• Must be licensed to operate forklifts and order picker.
• Must be a self starter, detail oriented and organized and be able to prioritize and balance workloads and strict critical deadlines and perform under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communications skills.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality requirements.
• Must be able to work additional hours outside the normal work shift to support department needs (evenings and weekends).
• Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting with peers and with all departments in a cross functional setting.
• Computer proficiency (MS Word and Excel) previous materials handling applications (MAPICS) desirable.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and analyzing skills.

Requirements (Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands):

• Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs throughout the work day in a multi-functional facility.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of supplies or finished products.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicle (van).
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (lab coat, safety glasses, latex or nitrile gloves and hair net).
• Must be able to analyze, concentrate and interpret processes routinely through the course of the work shift and remain focused in a fast paced open environment throughout the course of the work day.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, stoop, reach, bend, push and pull carts and hand jacks throughout the course of the work shift.
