Position Summary: 

The Recruiter is responsible for full cycle recruiting throughout the organization handling exempt, non-exempt and temporary to hire roles. They demonstrate extensive knowledge of talent acquisition and HR principles and build dynamic relationships with business leaders, hiring managers and HR business partners. They seek to understand work roles, source and generate candidates, conduct interviews to screen and identify talent for the organization, and prepare and extend job offers. Recruiters possess strong verbal and written communication skills, have an ability to manage multiple demands, demonstrate influence, a sense of urgency, and understand the value of providing amazing customer service.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Partners and builds relationships with hiring managers, HR Department team members, temporary agencies, and our parent company’s hiring team to build effective sourcing, assessment, and recruitment plans.
  • Understands how to recruit passive candidates and possess the mentality to "profile” people and gauge chemistry of candidates for fit within the compnay and our specialty business companies.
  • Builds and maintain a network of potential candidates through proactive market research and on-going relationship management; conduct in-depth interviews of potential candidates, demonstrate ability to anticipate hiring manager preferences through high offer-to-interview ratios.
  • Recommends ideas and strategies related to recruitment that will contribute to the long-term growth of the company, implements new processes and fine-tunes standard processes for recruiting that fit within our mission to deliver the highest quality results to our internal customers and candidates.
  • When necessary, is able to articulate plans with deliverables, timelines and a formal candidate tracking process.
  • Interviews candidates within the framework of the position specification. Possess strong ability to screen, interview and prepare an ideal candidate slate within an appropriate and consistent timeline.
  • Understands the impact of local economy fluctuations, unemployment rates, industry trends, and other macroeconomic events on candidate pools and be able to explain to hiring managers how those events impact search outcomes.
  • Effectively handles the pre-employment documentation process ensuring that all required paperwork is completed to ensure a great first day.
  • Completes various metrics reports, documents, expense/billing reports, work instructions and other documentation necessary to the efficient running of the department.
  • Participates in special projects/recruiting initiatives including assessment of best practices in interviewing techniques, leveraging of internal sources, technology upgrades, onboarding, employer branding, etc.
  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.  
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree in Human Resources preferred.   3+ years of recruiting experience in a corporate and/or search firm including passive candidate generation and full life cycle recruiting. Other relevant experience should include:

Job Qualifications:

  • 2 - 3 years Recruiting in the logistics, trucking, retail or manufacturing sectors highly preferred as well as experience placing a large number of non-exempt and temporary to hire candidates.
  • Building and utilizing a variety of sourcing plans and tools, including proactive phone and internet research.
  • An affinity for technology. Demonstrated social media recruiting experience including the ability to use LinkedIn, Indeed, and other sites to source candidates and network with potential candidates.
  • Strong applicant tracking software experience and acknowledgement that good data management allows for reliable metrics and recruiting reports to track performance. Exposure to SilkRoad applicant tracking software preferred.
  • MS Office- including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
