A local food production facility is looking to hire a Refrigeration Technician in Lodi, CA.  This is a direct hire opportunity.  The Refrigeration Technician will work closely with Plant Supervisors, Leads, Electricians and Mechanics to install, repair and maintain all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in accordance with company, State and Federal safety regulations.

Responsibilities for this Refrigeration Technician position include:

*   Perform daily maintenance and repair of all facility refrigeration systems, as well as, maintenance of the heating and cooling equipment within the facility, ensuring optimal performance and efficiencies.

*   Acts as mechanical, technical, and operational, support to all refrigeration pneumatics, hydraulics and boilers for the facility

*   Supports the Maintenance team in matters pertaining to refrigeration, pneumatics, hydraulics and boilers

*   Assures compliance to refrigeration, pneumatics, hydraulics and boilers standards set forth by maintenance management, State and Federal Regulations

*   Analyzes refrigeration malfunctions from performance and test equipment readings and determines appropriate repairs

*   Understands steam principles and facility steam systems with the ability to troubleshoot pumps, valves, piping, and water treatment

*   Checks temperatures, pressures, chemical levels, valves, gauges, and adds chemicals if necessary

*   Checks air compressors, pumps, refrigeration rooms and freezers

*   Checks inventory of needed parts and submits parts requisitions as needed.

*   Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and obtains parts as needed



*   Technical College or equivalent of 2 years work experience in the field of Refrigeration, Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Boilers

*   Ability to use a computer for purpose of data entry and reporting

*   HAZMAT or RETA certification  

*   Knowledge of Air conditioning and heating codes; refrigeration tools, materials and test equipment

* Ability to reads and understand schematics

*   Responds to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns

*   Maintains proper housekeeping and safety standards

*   Understand and follows procedures related to GMP’s, HACCP, PPE and Lock out/Tag out

*   Able to safely lift items up to 50lbs

*   Is certified to use the motorized Pallet Jack, Fork Lift, Scissor Lift, Boom lift, Lock-out Tag-out

*   May be assigned to work in extremely cold or hot conditions

*   Most positions are located in areas with loud noise and will require the use of protective ear plugs

*   Requires frequent walking, occasional lifting up to 50lbs, standing for long periods of time, and some sitting, pulling, pushing and climbing

*   May also require performing some work in cramped or confined spaces

*   Willing to work any shift and overtime as required


Pay for this position is DOE as this is a direct hire position.
