Hours: Mon-Fri 8-5 with some flexibility to work from home/flex hours as needed
Max Pay Rate: $50.00 per hour / Adecco W2

This LSU Regulatory Affairs contractor position supports US Snacks Regulatory Affairs initiatives. The person in this position will interact with various Regulatory Category Leads, product developers, cross functional teams and ingredient vendors to complete assigned projects. The primary focus of this position is to complete regulatory affairs approvals of US Snacks ingredient specifications and assess impact of data to finished product formulas and labels. This includes assessing accuracy of all vendor data against FDA and/or USDA regulations and then comparing for ingredient composition, allergens, nutritionals and certifications to all current data, product labels and rectifying differences through regulatory systems. Reviewing and approving ingredient documentation, certifications, COA test results and declarations for compliance with FDA and USDA regulations as well as PEP standards. The person in this role will need to assess the impact of changes in ingredient data on existing product labels, summarize changes and issue updated labels through the proper regulatory approval process.

Other responsibilities include providing regulatory review and approval of supplier data for ingredient specifications within the R&D specification system (Product Vision). Rigorous review of data, comparison to current FDA labels, and formal system approval is required to ensure regulatory compliance.
The position will require excellent understanding and application of US FDA and USDA regulations to ensure the ultimate accuracy of finished product ingredient statements, nutrition facts, allergen declarations and claims. They must be able to monitor, interpret and ensure compliance with US regulations today and into the future.
Qualifications:
• BS Degree in Food Science, Regulatory, Nutrition, or equivalent as minimum
• Corporate or government regulatory experience in US FDA and USDA food labeling and solid background in nutrition related field with strong collaboration and communication skills
• Minimum of 2 years food regulation or related industry experience such as compliance, Quality Assurance or Quality Control role in relation to US regulations work.
• Detail oriented; adaptable; with ability to work independently desired
• Excellent computer skills and existing knowledge of Product Vision System highly preferred (Schawk Blue, SAP, Microsoft Office experience preferred). Must be quick to learn new systems.
• Project management, communication with on-sight project management team and direct communication with vendor regulatory teams is required to validate accuracy of information before population into the system. Strong technical regulatory background is essential to success.
• Fluent in English language - written and oral.
