Description:

Fortune 500/CPG company is seeking a highly-motivated individual to work within our various operating units. The Regulatory & Labeling Specialist is responsible for creating and updating mandatory product label information. This position will collaborate across functional teams to ensure label information is following local regulations, as well as company policy. They will also work with product developers and external vendors to create experimental labels and obtain certifications, respectively.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

¿ Developing and reviewing mandatory label copy which includes product name, weight statement, ingredient statement, allergen declaration, certifications, nutrition facts panel and claims which meet government/local requirements and regulations
¿ Maintaining complete ingredients and certificates in respective databases and ensure they reflect quality and regulatory attributes
¿ Working across functional teams to assure compliance with local regional regulatory standards, third-party certification standards, and company policies
¿ Obtaining label approvals, temporary approvals, extensions and certifications
¿ Keeping an up-to-date knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best food labeling practices
¿ Inspecting artwork, packaging, graphics and text of existing and proposed product labels to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulation compliance (to include nutrition panel, ingredient information, food statements, health declarations, allergen information, etc.)
¿ Lead with ideas for process and system simplification and standardization


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
¿ Bachelor¿s degree in Food Science, Nutrition or related field
¿ Minimum of 1-3 years of food industry experience in labeling and regulatory affairs is required
¿ Working knowledge local regional regulatory standards and documentation requirements
¿ Ability to work with multiple database systems and network efficiently to get information required to complete tasks
¿ Good report writing skills
¿ Good interpersonal and communication skills
¿ Working knowledge of food product development and processes
¿ Working knowledge of food safety and allergens
¿ Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
¿ Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Office 365, and SharePoint
¿ Detail oriented, organized, and self-motivator
