Responsibilities, Qualifications, & Details:
Job Title: Reimbursement Specialist
Shift: 8am-5pm, M-F
Location: Woodlands, TX
Pay Rate: $17.00-$18.50

Under general supervision provides support to client network practices in the areas of reimbursement and assistance programs. Maintains continued knowledge of current assistance programs, qualifying criteria, and oncology drugs. Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Supports and adheres to the client/internal compliance programs, to include the Code of Ethics, Business Standards, and HIPAA.

• Providing prompt and courteous service to patients, clinics contacts, and other health care professionals in regards to reimbursement and patient assistance questions.
• Maintains knowledge of medical reimbursement, patient assistance programs, and oncology drug programs. As well as medical and pharmacy insurance benefits and structures.
• Serves as a liaison between patient, medical staff and pharmaceutical reimbursement services, to properly execute program benefits; serving as an expert resource to the network in the research of reimbursement and patient assistance programs.
• Gathers PHI and medical information from various PMS in order to apply and receive approval from the assistance programs.
• Any other related duty as needed assigned by supervisor
• 2+ years medical or insurance industry
• 4+ years related experience with reimbursement assistance or third-party billing.
• Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
• Familiarity with medical terminology and diagnosis code
• High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree is preferred.
• Oncology experience is a plus but is not required
• Face to face patient assistance experience is a plus but is not required
• Reading, writing, arithmetic, good communication skills, PC and word-processing skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
