Research Technician

A Research Technician job in San Diego, CA is available through Adecco Medical and Science. The Research Technician is responsible for working in high-impact projects with implications in cancer immunotherapies. The research involves the use of oncolytic viruses, tumor biopsies, experimental cancer model tissues and blood from cancer patients and healthy donors. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary group of researchers developing the next generation of immunotherapies.
Research Technician job responsibilities include:

Under the supervision of the principal investigator and senior scientist, the Research Technician will be involved in a wide range of laboratory techniques such as isolating primary cells from human blood and treated animals as well as performing subsequent cell culture, microscopy and flow cytometry analysis.
The Research Technician will be responsible for preparing buffers, solutions, and routine lab chemicals, as well as for laboratory administrative duties that include maintaining a research database, data entry into spreadsheets, and ordering/receiving supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

B.S. or higher in biological science, or biochemistry with previous experience in a cellular/molecular biology laboratory.
Theoretical knowledge of biology, immunology, cell biology or related field at the college "upper division" level; or equivalent education and experience
Demonstrated proficiency in basic and advanced tissue culture techniques
Proven experience using laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, balances, and pH meters
Proven expertise, accurate record keeping with the ability to organize, analyze, and calculate data
Superior oral and written communication skills
Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
document management experience
1-2 years’ experience

Preferred qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency in flow cytometry and prior experience in Immunology field.

Special Conditions:

Must be willing to work with recombinant DNA and biohazardous materials.
Must be willing to work with human blood
