Job Title: Retail Design Coordinator

Location: Mountain View, CA

Pay Range: DOE

Estimated Length: 12 months

Position Description

As a Retail Design Coordinator, you will participate in all stages of retail fixture development and provide ongoing support to the design and production process within the Retail Marketing Team. You will assist the Design team in preparation and maintenance of all project reference material; including construction of scale mock-ups, printing, copying, scanning, and archiving design development, and coordinating installation and maintenance of the retail showroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take direction from Creatives to bring ideas to life.
  • Craft models and mockups out of various materials to ideate on early design thinking
  • Program and run equipment; such as, 3D printer, plotter, laser cutter and vinyl cutter
  • Build 2D design files within Photoshop, Illustrator or In Design
    • Being mindful of design layout and typography treatments Coordination/Organization
  • Assist design team in the organization of new and existing project files
  • Create, update, organize, and archive all incoming project materials
  • Maintain a comprehensive pin-up presentation of all current projects
  • Management of design room, ensuring space is tidy and supplies are stocked
  • Manage, document and maintain a log of retailer requirements for design team to reference
  • Maintain the material and resource library within the design lab
    • Sourcing new and existing materials to ensure our material library encompasses a wide variety
  • Responsible for coordination of showroom setup an ongoing maintenance, tracking any issues that arise and partnering with the designer and/or production manager to resolve

Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory

  • BA/BS with 1-2 years of experience
  • Highly motivated, determined problem-solvers with a rigorous attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, independent thinker with strong communication skills
  • Hands-on, without depending solely on virtual design tools
  • Collaborative, flexible, adaptable and organized
  • Curious about how something is made, how it works, and eager to dive into multiple disciplines
  • Able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven, and techy work environment in often uncertain and ambiguous circumstances
  • This person must be resourceful, adaptable, creative and results oriented with high energy and a positive attitude

Desired

  • Proficient in Sketchup, Solidworks, Rhino, or other 3d modeling software
  • Proficient in Adobe CC- particularly PS and AI
  • Comfortable in sketching and rapid visualization
  • Proficient in G-suite tools- Slides, docs, sheets, etc
