RF Connector Design Engineer – Meriden, CT

Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of electrical components for wireless communications worldwide. They are experiencing tremendous growth and are looking to add an experienced Design Engineer to their team. This person will need to have experience designing field and factory installable RF connectors for mobile telecommunication applications.


Design of field and factory installable RF connectors for frequency range up to 6 GHz suitable for stringent return loss and intermodulation requirements applicable to the mobile telecommunication industry
Selection of suitable materials and manufacturing methods
Collaboration with industrialization team to develop suitable manufacturing processes, tools, fixtures for factory assembled connectors
Selection and qualification of sub-contractors for manufacturing and assembly of connector components


BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
5+ years of experience in RF connector design
Expertise in materials, specifically metals and plastics

Expertise in design-to-cost and design-to manufacturing
Expertise in RF testing, including passive modulation, and in operation of RF measurement equipment

Expertise in manufacturing processes like machining, rolling, die casting, injection moulding, plating etc.
Expertise in soldering
Expertise in mechanical standards, design rules and test procedures

Expertise in SolidWorks or similar FEM analysis tools
Expertise in RF field simulation with HFSS, CST or similar tools
