Description:
Responsible for establishing and running detailed quality assurance inspections, product test plans, and assisting with product development test and measurement activities in the Electro-Optics division of Sig Sauer in Tualatin, OR; including conducting both lab equipment based (metrology) and empirical tests based on standards and lab techniques (i.e. US Air Force and ISO Optical targets). Tasks will include extensive work with different inspection methods including routine and non-routine visual, dimensional, mechanical and functional set-ups, measurement methods for sports optics and laser based products as well as components inspection. Includes first article, incoming inspection, in-house production support, Outgoing Quality Control, data collection and analysis, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, return to vendor process, and maintaining appropriate levels of workplace organization and safety at all times.
Experience and/or Education:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; preferably a 2-year or 4-year degree engineering or quality
2+ years related experience working within a QA organization
High attention to detail
Familiar with drawing/print reading, GD&T, QA documentation processes, and mechanical design document interpretation including a good working skill set interpreting design specifications for dimensioning and tolerances. Familiarity with ISO standards, basic metrology equipment and calibration.
Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook) is required, and at least a basic working familiarity with fundamental data analysis techniques. Familiarity with Oracle EBS is also a plus.
Candidate should have fundamental technical and mechanical aptitude with basic optical, electrical, and mechanical test instruments and techniques, as well as strong aptitude with hand tools and small power tools.
Candidate should be familiar with Acceptance Quality Limit theory and practical development and application of valid sampling plans.
Excellent communication, organization and task management skills are required.
Familiarity with safe handling and range procedures with firearms is a plus.
