The Safety Coordinator will act as integral resource and be responsible for technical implementation and sustainment of the company's safety and loss-prevention programs. S/he will have a proven history of independently showcasing above average incident reduction results through development, implementation, and updating targeted safety procedures and tactics of programs and initiatives such as Hazard Assessment & Communication, Personal Protective Equipment, Respiratory Protection, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Exposure Control (Bloodborne Pathogens, TB, etc.), Confined Space, and Emergency Action Plans, among other responsibilities.



Minimum of 1-3 years relative work experience, preferably in food manufacturing


Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or equivelant subject knowledge


Maintain all safety records, files, and reports including email monthly safety summaries


Update and review accuracy of OSHA 300 log for both facilities


Assist Management with new hires, in preparation for, and completion of, internal self-assessments and 3rd party audits


Communicate and support safety policies and procedures on a routine basis to assure organization meets all required federal, state, and local standards and regulations


Execute periodic health and safety walk-through inspections of all workplace facilities


Conduct and maintain Job Safety Analysis (JSA) programs for use in identifying possible safety hazards and developing effective safety guidelines, developing new employee training programs, leading incident investigations, and identifying key company cost-saving opportunities


Conducts internal investigations post-accidents and writes detailed reports identifying accident causes and potential hazards for use by company employees and management


Company representative during federal, state and local safety inspections of all facilities, on-call as needed


Communicate with regulatory agencies, as necessary, to comply with all environmental health & safety regulations


Promote safety awareness throughout facilities by using established programs in behavioral safety, hazard recognition and employee accountability


Knowledge of world-class manufacturing safety practices and processes


Maintain & email weekly Light Duty log, including verifying physician’s notes and details of restrictions to qualify and provide a “reasonable accommodation”


Proven ability to prioritize responsibilities and projects on short notice and quickly pivot based on company needs, while still meeting timely project deadlines


Provide detailed recommendations to Management on current safety programs and procedures


Implement new programs that encourage participation and strong safety-first mentality for all employees
