Summary:
Serve as branch leader for safety and quality; provide job costing and profitability reporting and analysis for branch local and long distance work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible to execute established safety strategy at a branch level to meet van line and company standards
Provide leadership, guidance and program development to branch employees in the interpretation and application of safety practices as they pertain to transportation, warehouse and workplace safety
Plan and implement safety policies such as work site safety practices, fire prevention, use of personal protection equipment and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment and other materials to comply with local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations including hazmat requirements.
Monitor and supervise driver qualification files and records including driver logs and vehicle inspection logs; oversee motor vehicle records for all commercial drivers; establish controls to detect violation of company regulations by drivers and to observe condition of vehicles and equipment.
Provide onboarding for new van operators, both contract/contingent and employee.
Supervise the administration of the Department of Transportation regulations, vehicle accident investigations, accident prevention programs, preparation of reports and record keeping.
Manage occupational exposure processes to include risk and exposure assessments, develop and implement exposure monitoring plan, and manage exposure controls; observe employees at work to determine compliance with safety precautions and safety equipment used.
Inspect work environment, machinery, and equipment in establishment and other for conformance with governmental standards according to procedure in response to complaint or accident.
Complete company van operator trip analysis and provide reporting at individual, product line and branch levels.
Complete local job analysis and provide reporting at the individual, product line and branch levels
Provide quality leadership for the branch locations, including measurement, analysis, and development of goals and objectives, and the strategies and tactics to meet them
Serve as back-up trainer for Certified Quality Labor programs
Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
