Sales Support Specialist

Job Summary: The Sales Support Specialist works collaboratively with appropriate personnel across all company departments in order to provide general sales support and assistance to sales employees, customers and partners.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Directly manage and extensively utilize the CRM system to assist the outside sales team to manage opportunities, projects and customer relationships.
Directly respond to and proactively communicate with customers, sales managers, sales representatives and sales partners to support strategic initiatives and sales efforts.
Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of customer visits, market research and other initiatives to support the function and growth of sales efforts.
Assist in the development and execution of sales estimates, quotations and proposals, as well as directly providing pricing and proposals for appropriate products.
Responsible for the collection, assessment and distribution of sales leads and maintaining regular communication with sales managers, sales representatives and sales partners.
Analyze sales performance statistics and assist sales managers in the development and execution of strategic plans and initiatives.
Participate in key management/sales venues and presentations (sales meetings, trade shows, customer/vendor visits, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

High School Diploma or GED is required plus an Associate’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field of study; or equivalent years of experience (2 years).
2+ years of relevant professional experience working within a customer service, inside sales or sales support department.
Previous minimal sales experience is a plus!
Experience in commercial construction or similar industries is highly desired.
Ability to interface effectively with diverse groups of people; ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; including positive interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn additional (sales automation, CRM, ERP, etc.) software applications is required.
Solid mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures such as discounts, commissions, percentages, and interest.
Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and respond to sales employees and customers in a timely manner.
Must be able to travel at certain times of the year.
