Responsible for sanitizing and cleaning production equipment.

• Performs sanitation tasks on production equipment such as ribbon mixer, pumps, valves, nozzles, scales, pots, tanks, hoses and work stations to aid in the prevention of cross contamination
• Performs other general cleaning responsibilities and completion of duties outlined in the master sanitation schedule as assigned
• Use of chemicals to clean, foam and sanitize
• Performs visual inspection of equipment
• Operates industrial truck to transport materials within plant as needed
• Keeps sanitation records
• Maintains proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping in a legible manner
• Performs additional projects as assigned by supervisor to ensure product safety and quality
• Operates various equipment such as dish washing equipment and supplies
• Maintains equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition
• Supports production work crew in improving sanitation and cleaning procedures
• Understands and ensures compliance of Safe Quality Food (SQF)/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards
• Maintains hazard free work areas
• Use sound judgment and exercise caution to ensure personal safety and the safety of others
• Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials up to 80 pounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Continually strives to promote a safe food culture, ensuring the production and shipment of safe quality food products

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to communicate and receive information in both verbal and written formats. Ability to read and understand documents such as shop order tickets, safety rules, memos, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical concepts to achieve desired results (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, percentages, fractions, decimals, and weights and measures).
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Adept at using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computer and keyboard functions.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a chauffeur’s license. Ability to become forklift and scissor lift certified and certified for use/wear of specific personal protective equipment.

• Frequent/Daily use of vision abilities for close, distant, peripheral, depth and color recognition, with the ability to adjust focus
• Manual dexterity to operate sanitation equipment
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, reach, grip, grasp and twist
• Frequent need to kneel, stoop, bend and crouch
• Regular lifting and carrying, and pushing/pulling, of up to 80 pounds during the course of a work day
• Occasional moving of 400+ pound barrels and totes with assistance (i.e. drum carts, forklifts)
• Occasional need to climb stairs and work on ladders or at heights
