POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Perform initial cuts on a variety of stock bars, blocks, rods, etc. using a variety of band saws. Fill shop orders with correct raw material for manufacturing product.

ESSENTIAL FUCNTIONS:

1. Check blue print to identify correct stock and initial measurement.
2. Manufacture or select appropriate work holdings and fixtures.
3. Identify and locate proper material thickness and gauge.
4. Setup, adjust and run band saw.
5. Measure, mark and cut stock.
6. Trim or de-burr stock to customer specification.
7. Check and replace saw blades as needed.
8. Perform mechanical tasks including loading and unloading vices, fixtures and parts.
9. Count, mark, pack and store parts and raw materials in appropriate location.
10. Store stock materials in appropriate locations.
11. May work in finishing area as required.
12. Maintain organized and clean work area.
13. Receive, understand and follow all written and oral instruction.
14. Communicate all problems and other work related issues to supervisor.
15. Timely completion of all paperwork associated with position.
16. Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety and attendance requirements
17. Participate in activities to increase personal skill level, overall departmental processes and product quality.
18. Resolve day-to-day issues by working effectively with others.
19. Maintain meet or exceed rating on all performance evaluations.
20. Other duties required to meet company needs as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

1. Entry level Position, no experience required; 6 months in manufacturing environment preferred.
2. Ability to learn to read and understand Blue Prints.
3. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
4. Understand and use a variety of measuring equipment (rulers, tape measures, etc.)
5. Ability to learn to distinguish a variety of raw materials (stainless steel, cold rolled steel, etc.)
6. Ability to learn to understand machining properties of various raw materials (303SSTv. 304SST)
7. Good communication skills including the ability to receive oral and written instruction.
8. Technical training including blue print reading and basic shop math.
9. OSHA required training in Lock-out / Tag-out, Hazard Communication, PPE and Emergency Evacuation.
10. In-house training on all assigned machinery and equipment.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Twisting, bending, leaning 50% of the workday.
2. Ability to exert physical force to push, pull, lift or carry 50 pounds occasionally.
3. Ability to work in a shop environment � continuous exposure to loud noises, dust, solvents, coolants and oils.
