Position: Security Guard

Location: Downtown Sacramento

Shifts: Swing, TRAIN ON GRAVEYARD, plus OT and weekends as

Rate: $16.40/hr.

Adecco is assisting a local client recruiting for a reliable Security Guard in Sacramento, CA.  This is usually a long-term temporary opportunity that will give you valuable experience to enhance your career. Work consists of routine tasks requiring identification of problems and everyday decision-making. To succeed in this position, candidates must be reliable, have an outstanding work ethic and a positive attitude.

Position Overview:  Effectively perform duties necessary to provide security for company assets and personnel, support production and business objectives, coordinates Crisis Management and verifies access for all in-bound and out-bound vehicles and personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for routine clerical tasks in accordance with standardized procedures. Maintains records, files, and processes single documents. Prepares reports as required.
  • Patrols Blue diamond facilities being alert for theft, intrusion, door security and safety conditions. Responds to fire, intrusion and duress alarms, and conducts fire equipment safety inspections.
  • Monitors telephones, central radio, CCTV’s, fire alarm and security systems providing emergency response coordination. Implementation of the Crisis Management Plan by coordinating medical, maintenance and other assistance by dispatching guards or contacting appropriate personnel during emergency situations.
  • Performs entry control duties and controls truck entry/exit monitoring product shipment. May perform shift lead duties on any given day depending on seniority.
  • Performs fire control and prevention duties, parking and traffic control, and neighborhood patrol immediately adjacent to BDG property.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have High School Diploma.
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license and clean DMV print out. At least three years experience as a security officer or related law enforcement experience.
  • Must have good communication skills and the ability to interface with drivers, customers and others that come to Blue Diamond. Must be able to interact with all levels of internal and external customers and employees, resulting in positive working relationships.
  • Basic computer and CCTV skills are required. Work consists of routine tasks requiring identification of problems and everyday decision-making. Must be able to read and interpret company policies and instructions. Must meet output standards and meet schedules and deadlines as assigned. Must be knowledgeable and recognize crisis management alarms (fire, intrusion, machinery malfunction) and follow-up actions.
  • Must understand Blue Diamond HACCP processes, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) and safety practices. Works without direct supervision on many occasions. Proceeds with duties by following several standardized procedures and may contact supervisor if problems arise. Work is spot-checked. Errors may cause delays of minor loss of resources.
  • Wear of a security uniform required. Must possess a California Drivers License and clean DMV. Carry and use a two-way radio. Use a cellular phone and other types of phones. Operate CCTV equipment and computer. Drive a marked security patrol vehicle.

Educational Requirements:

Must have PROOF of high school diploma or equivalent, active Guard Card, and basic math and computer skills.
