Self-Driving Vehicle Operator / Operations Associate

Job Description - Responsible for operating and evaluating a self-driving vehicle in autonomous mode for six to eight hours per day, including collecting data and providing feedback.

Summary of Primary Duties:

-Monitor automated driving software systems.

-Operate a vehicle 6-8 hours a day alone, five days a week; able to sit for long periods of time.

-Capable of responding quickly to changing and potentially high-pressure environments.

-Provide concise, clear, and accurate verbal and written feedback regarding the vehicle's operations.

-Complete daily reports and document procedures and tests.

-Interact with the members of the public and educate them on self-driving technology.

-Work mostly individually but also in small groups of 2-10 people.


-Must be at least 21 years old.

-Minimum of five years of experience driving on public roads. Additional experience is preferred.

-Valid driver license for the state(s) in which the self-driving vehicle operator will be working.

-Meets driver requirements, including driving record & criminal history, under applicable regulations and -aws in the state (s) in which the self-driving vehicle operator will be working.

-Comply with zero-tolerance policy regarding the use of alcohol or drugs by self-driving vehicle operators during a shift, including randomized drug testing.

-Able to work either early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends, as well as overnight shifts and travel for up to one month at a time.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-Able to work in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

-Able to type at least 40 wpm.

-Proficiency with a laptop computer and GSuite apps (Gmail, Hangouts, and Drive, including Sheets and Docs).

-Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred but not required).

-Ability to parallel park with minimal assistance.

-Upon acceptance of work, must be willing to be enrolled in a commercial driving program, including a randomized drug testing program as required by California state law.
