Senior Accountant

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily accounting and finance related operations
  • Analyze accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department
  • Prepare month end accruals and journal entries forecast/budget expenses
  • Assist in preparing financial statements
  • Work with the accounting manager on appropriate fiscal strategies for the organization
  • Drive a diverse array of activities including, but not limited to banking activities, A/R, A/P, assistance with payroll and benefits administration, filing and assigned project work
  • Review records of accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Develop systems for the maintenance of financial records, making use of current technologies
  • Create forms and manuals for accounting / audit purposes

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree with two to four years of related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.  Ability to respond to inquiries and concerns from customers, third party contractors and members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management and customers.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with many variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
