They need a full-time, organized, detail oriented Senior Accounting Specialist with a cooperative, can-do attitude.

Here are the main functions of the Senior Accounting Specialist:

  • Processes employee timesheets & company payroll in cooperation with an outside payroll processor
  • Assist the principals in the preparation of monthly cost reports / projections
  • Produce monthly financial reports
  • Enter and make deposits
  • Prepare and submit property tax statements
  • Administration of benefits in cooperation with the HR Director
  • Coordination of client billing including but not limited to:
    • Matching contracts to budgets
    • Billing preparation
    • Generating Monthly invoices
    • Obtaining principal approval of invoices
    • Generating monthly statements
  • Coordination of consultant invoices including but not limited to:
    • Handling correspondence
    • Coordinating payments
    • Assist in resolving payment issues
    • Obtaining principal and/ or project manager approval of consultant invoices
    • Assist the principals in the preparation of monthly cost reports / projections
    • Produce monthly financial reports
    • Enter and make deposits
    • Prepare and submit property tax statements

The must haves:

  • 3 years minimum experience in Accounting, Finance or Business with 1 year minimum experience in a dedicated accounting capacity
  • Knowledge of Construction or Project Based accounting
  • Strong understanding of finance principles, policies and procedures
  • Must possess a strong accounting knowledge to function independently and collaboratively and take initiative to solve problems
  • Must demonstrate a high level of accuracy and stable work performance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly and accurately communicate with staff at all levels
  • Must have proven record of ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Ability to organize priorities and multi-task effectively to meet daily, weekly and month-end deadlines.
  • Desire to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environment
  • Organization with consistent follow through and follow up
  • Mastery of MS Excel including pivot tables

Preferred Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting preferred
  • A 2-year degree in accounting or minimum of 2 years accounting experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with Ajera software or other ERP platforms preferred.
