Job Title: Sr. Compensation Associate
Organization: Rutgers UHR
Location: New Brunswick
Duration: Contract assignment for 6 months with a possible extension
Number of positions: 2
Pay: Pay will be hourly. Comparable to job market, open to discussion
Duties:
� Under the direction of the Manager of Compensation Services, the associate will be responsible for day-to-day administration of staff compensation programs.
� Serves as the primary point of contact for select Schools/Operation Units providing a variety of compensation services at the professional level.
� Performs job evaluations and makes recommendations for new positions and reclassifications, departmental studies for reorganizations and union reviews in accordance with bargaining unit contract stipulations.
� Explains compensation policies to staff and faculty. Interacts with HR staff and department heads, to resolve problems and provide guidance regarding procedures, job qualifications and/or salary questions.
� Utilizes market survey data and job documentation obtained from job descriptions, position information questionnaires, in order to classify jobs based on the scope and nature of this position.
� Oversees and/or conducts salary surveys and market studies to validate the University�s Compensation Program. Researches a variety of compensation related information such as programs, policies, benefits, pay practices, legal compliance and pay practices.
� Other duties as assigned.
Experience and skills:
� Bachelors Degree in HR or Business Administration.
� Minimum of 5 yrs of experience in compensation administration
� Knowledge of compensation laws and regulations required
� Excellent statistical analyses, problem solving, communication skills.
� Ability to interpret external market studies to meaningful conclusions.
� Collective bargaining experience is a plus
