This role will lead a collaberative team of existing construction managers, and must thrive in organizing the work effort as well as tracking various single and multi-family home building projects. Job Responsibilities:


Coordinate and supervise all construction activities and understand all phases of residential construction including: bidding, purchasing, subcontract review, change orders, VPOs, timeframes, scheduling and procurement, and construction associated with production single and multi-family homes.

Direct all field personnel and trade partners to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specs, and company quality standards.

Maintain full financial accountability for the job; requires approval, dis-approval, and issuance of VPOs (variance purchase orders) that pertain to direct job cost.

Efficiently sets timeline goals for each project and maintains construction schedules as well as problem identification and solutions.

Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.

Able to easily understand and interpret construction documents, specifications, and building code requirements.

Able to grow and maintain positive working relationships with customers, team members, trade partners, suppliers, consultants, inspectors and municipalities.

Enforce all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and all applicable laws for all team members and trade partners on job sites.

Recognize site safety violations on a daily basis and attempt to rectify them, document those electronically with a correction report, and distribute to appropriate parties.

Maintain strong knowledge of construction risk control, insurance standards, contract negotiation and scope writing. Maintain knowledge of local vendors, trade partners and overseeing municipalities. Maintain electronic job progress for each job on a daily basis.

5+ years of residential home construction management experience, from land development to home closing.

Organization - Process strong organizational skill sets and computer proficiency. Communication – Strong written and oral communication as well as effective listening skills.

Problem solving – Able to analyze problems/issues and make timely sound decisions based on objectives, risks, implications and costs.

Interpersonal skills – Professional, tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills and having great team management skill sets. The ability to work well with team members with diverse personalities, respectfully and professionally.

Adaptable – Must possess the ability to adapt to changing homebuyer, trade partner, and company needs.

Computer competency – The person in this position will use the latest software on a daily basis for scheduling, PO management and release, and will need to have a high degree of comfort using internet based systems.

Construction knowledge - Hands on experience with construction, and a deep knowledge of building principles, best practices, and likely project setbacks.

Ability to lead, influence, and motivate others to perform. Must have a strong ability and desire to teach others and lead the professional growth of the team.
