POSITION: Senior Material Handler

LOCATION: Myerstown, PA 17067

START DATE: ASAP upon successful interview with client

DURATION: Long-Term, no definitive ending date as of now

PAY RATE: $17.50 per hour

HOURS: 1 person needed for 2nd Shift Monday through Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm and 1 person needed for 3rd shift Sunday through Thursday 11:00pm-7:30am – with the understanding you must be able to train on 1st shift if requested AND be able to switch shifts should client’s business needs dictate the need to do so.

 

Position Purpose

Perform necessary tasks in clients warehouse operations to coordinate movement of high quality materials and products on time and in the right quantities.

 

Major tasks and responsibilities of position

  • Perform full range of duties associated with operations in 3 on-site warehouses such as: 

    • Meeting production demands and maintain production priorities by following site wide production schedule; effectively read & follow schedule, including communicating with supervision on material concerns.

    • Forklift operation, stand-up and sit-down units, including operation of required attachments such as the pull-pack, clamp, drum clamp and inverter.

    • Operation of warehouse equipment including racking (high density, fixed, flow), battery charging units, wrapping machines, dock plates and scales.

    • Perform receiving, storing, & shipping tasks by following SOPs, including but not limited to inspecting materials for damage, ensuring correct counts, & ensuring materials are clean by Current Good Manufacturing Standards (cGMPs).  For example, physically matching documentation to materials received, verifying materials to shipping orders to ensure accuracy, following cGMPs to ensure material cleanliness, preparing shipping orders and scrap orders, etc.

    • Accurately complete, maintain, and update documentation (electronic and paper) when performing material movement tasks.

    • Picking orders of various raw and packaging materials to supply to the production departments

    • Review and verify team members paperwork as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Previous experience using automated inventory system is required (i.e., SAP, MES, etc.)

  • Previous experience using motorized & non-motorized material handling equipment required - must have at least 2 FULL YEARS OF FORKLIFT OPERATING EXPERIENCE SINCE 2016 THAT CAN BE VERIFIED

  • Must have a valid, state issued Class C (what most refer to as a regular drivers license).  CANNOT BE EXPIRED OR SUSPENDED

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully changeover/set up multiple pieces of packaging/manufacturing equipment and strong troubleshooting skills required.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English required.

  • Good PC Skills, including use of e-mail, attaching documents to e-mail required.  Previous experience using electronic databases and on-line tools required (i.e., but not limited to, Lotus Notes database, Employee Self-Services on-line tools, etc) 

  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in a production environment required.

  • Demonstrated ability to read/interpret/follow instructions in regard to workplace documentation, such as SOP’s, Operator Manuals, Work Instructions, etc.

  • Must be able to demonstrate a good mathematical aptitude in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, & metric system.

  • Experience in a government regulated, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or standard operating procedures (SOP) environment required.

  • Must be willing to work overtime as required, based on production demands.
