Senior Product Photographer

Adecco Creative is assisting our client, a national retailer, in their search for a Senior Product Photographer for a long-term photography project. This is a full time freelance role, working 40 hours per week (Mondays through Fridays) onsite in the client’s Monroe, NJ studio, and paying $28.50 per hour. The project will begin in the first week of January 2019 and is expected to last for up to 18 months with the possibility of being extended. Benefits, including health insurance, are available via Adecco.

The Senior Product Photographer will work daily in the studio to capture high-quality/high volume print ready Product Photography within agreed SLAs. The role requires strong knowledge of product photography and studio lighting to ensure that the company’s high standards are maintained. This role reports in to the Photography Implementation Manager.

As well as Photography capture duties, there will be an element of overall project organization/project tracking in partnership with the Photography Implementation Manager. The Senior Photographer may be required to engage with the customer at any time, making sure the overall project runs smoothly and all project milestones are met.

The Senior Photographer will also be required to manage 3 Junior Photographers, to ensure quality and shooting standards are met throughout targets.

The ideal candidate should have an advanced level of photographic knowledge and training; this should be degree-level or professional experience. Experience of product photography and studio experience is essential. Some office experience would be advantageous as the role requires regular communication via email and usage of Microsoft Office programs.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Ensuring quality of images captured while working to a high volume.
  • Maintaining consistency across a range of products in terms of color and lighting.
  • Understanding product and package photography lighting and rig-types and adjusting accordingly dependent on the type of product being shot.
  • Understanding Non-Food Photography, composition and lighting.
  • Prioritizing shooting according to SLA and Internal Service KPI’s.
  • Ensuring all project milestones are met/exceeded.
  • Managing and ordering the workflow and daily product volumes.
  • Taking responsibility for and resolving photography queries.
  • Shooting Urgent and Rejected day-to-day products within required KPI’s.
  • Understand the role of the key photographic services offered by the business and their primary usages by the client.
  • Working flexibly within the Imaging Department; transferring knowledge and skills to other processes as and when needed.
  • Identifying and escalating problems with Studio processes and suggesting solutions.
  • Being responsible for the maintenance of equipment and rigs used.
  • Working flexibly within the studio operation, helping across functions if needed to maintain productivity.
  • Training new photographers when needed in core photographic processes.
