Senior Civil Engineer
Primary responsibility is to provide technical support to the Engineering Department associated with project management, oversight and administration of engineering projects and work tasks.




Job Duties:
Project management, technical supervision and oversight of capital construction, repair and maintenance projects involving coordination with vendors, suppliers and contractors - includes tracking of project costs, budgets and scheduling.

Responsibility for helping determine capital budgets, developing scopes of work, acquisition of competitive quotes and bid analysis – includes value engineering and developing detailed project scopes of work.
Permitting of midsize and large development projects including environmental, storm water management, critical area mitigation and overall liaison with federal, state and city municipalities to expedite applications.
Proficiency with latest version of AutoCAD including the preparation of drawings, maps and illustrations, presentations and drafting - a familiarity and working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as Sketch-Up.
Skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Roxio Creator, Google Earth, Acrobat Pro and Adobe Photoshop.
Hands-on experience in preparing and developing spreadsheets and tracking of key project parameters.
Familiarity with regulations including safety, environmental and workplace oversight – tracking of regulatory compliance actions and related record keeping.
Ability to travel to multiple locations (west coast/east coast) as needed to support major projects.
Experienced in marine infrastructure construction, maintenance and repair – bulkheads, piers and vessel operations. Familiarity with health, safety and environmental best practices.


Requirements: BS degree in related engineering field; civil engineer preferred with fifteen years minimum experience in project management. A hands on and detail oriented engineer with ability to manage multiple projects and locations. Results oriented with good writing, communication, negotiation and computer skills. Ability to coordinate and oversee engineering consultants of various disciplines and skilled in development of working budgets and scopes of work for both small, midsize and large projects. Hands-on field experience with land development, building construction and marine infrastructure with ability to work under rigid timeframes or cost restraints.
