Senior Property Accountant



Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.


Prepare monthly financial packages for property level entities (reviews variance explanations, sub-ledger account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, journal entries, accruals, etc.), as required by Management, Capital Partners and Lenders
Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, management fees, funding requests to investors, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Perform various account analysis, interest rate swap calculations, evaluations, DSCR, etc.
Prepare year-end audit and tax work papers & equity roll-forward schedules
Prepare bank recs and put together wire requests.
Prepare, initiate and record owner contributions/distributions for partnership accounts
Adhere to and follow operational implementation of accounting policies and asset agreements.
Participate in various aspects of the monthly close process.
Monitor and track debt compliance for assigned portfolio
Assist with tenant operating expense reconciliation audits
Monitors and tracks debt compliance for assigned portfolio.
Prepare purchase price allocations for new acquisitions.
Prepare financial reporting packages to lenders. Also prepare funding requests and/or draws from the lenders.
Prepare various fixed assets, commissions and capital expenditures schedules
Assist with the Property Budget and Re-forecasting review and put together the cash flow reports
Assist with personal property taxes / real estate taxes/ insurance/ business license filings /income & expense surveys
Provide support to due diligence efforts
Record acquisitions & dispositions of designated properties and assets
Participate in various projects
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCES - Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance preferred. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience with relevant experience in the commercial real estate industry preferred.

LICENSES and/or CERTIFICATIONS – CPA certification preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as correspondence, reports, and procedure manuals. The Senior Property Accountant must have the ability to compile routine reports and correspondence as well as the ability to explain accounting information effectively with co-workers. Must be able to give and take direction and interface with decision makers in a professional manner.

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel). Understanding of automated accounting systems. Experience with MRI or Yardi strongly preferred.
