Senior S&OP Planner

We're currently recruiting for the role of Planner for our client's Akron, OH facility. Working as a key member of the Supply Chain group, you will be responsible for managing the S&OP processes, assisting in the development of key planning performance indicators for forecasting/purchasing/distribution of finished goods inventory and component materials in accordance with company strategy and market requirements.

A typical day for you:


Managing inventory in line with fiscal budget and latest estimate forecasts
Own and Manage the S&OP process within a specific country entity and/or service location(s), including Country Manager, Operations, Sales & Customer Service teams. Leads the S&OP Process with the local Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Operations & R&D teams on business trends & change in demand process. Work cross-functionally to understand market demands, customer requirements and production constraints
Manage inventory levels at the item level across the distribution centers within the United States, Canada and Mexico while maintaining effective communication with internal and external suppliers in multiple countries/regions
Assist in one on one meeting(s) with key customers, OEM & OEA market
Proactively work cross-functionally with S&OP Director, the Central Planning, Marketing, Sales & Customer Service Business Units on forecasting market trends, customer requirements, and phase-in/phase-out projects
Co-lead/Assist the S&OP Inventory Analyst on changes/recommendations on demand planning or other company initiatives based on of business trends, new or change in customer-level demand, and market/product segment targets.
Analyze the monthly analysis of sales forecast vs. actual results at the segment/item level to the US S&OP Analyst, Central Planning Department Demand Planner & US S&OP Director, with proposals for target adjustments
Lead/Manage updates of planning parameters in ERP system, including safety stock levels, forecasts and supply lead-time
Co-lead the annual pricing parameter updates in ERP system, including: price agreements, working with Finance on the rolling of annual standard costs and analysis of PPV issues.
Analyze and communicate with Warehouses, Finance & Suppliers of inventory or invoice discrepancies in a timely manner, development of warehouse container delivery reports & maintain updates of pipeline within the ERP System.
Working in conjunction with Transportation Department, obtain expedited freight quotes/following air freight policy approval process. Follow & distribute shipping instructions to meet freight model targets.
Communicate with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, delivery schedule and programs
Analyze market requirements, production forecasts and delivery constraints to determine present and future material availability
Analyze financial impact of forecasts and material plans and advise/communicate of threats to overall company targets or budgets
Alert organization to supply issues such as constraints, excess inventory, shortages, or quality concerns
Identify strategies and present proposals aimed at reducing excess inventories, increasing product quality, and decreasing costs
Understand the cost structure of company's product lines, and analyze current costs with the goal of identifying cost saving opportunities
Superuser of Tableau reporting software

About you:

Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Business Management or Supply Chain Management
Five plus years of Supply Chain Planning experience or 7+ years of experience in an operational role with responsibilities in planning, budgeting, or forecasting.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Proficient in Microsoft Power Point and Word
Strong analytical skills & reporting
Experience in MRP and or DRP required
Seeking future supervisor/management, project planning or key initiative roles
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to multi-task required
Team player with problem solving skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Secondary Language – Spanish preferred
Planning experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Experience using Infor M3 preferred
Experience with Tableau Reporting – or other reporting software
