We are currently seeking a Corporate Senior Tax Accountant for one of our Fortune 300 corporate function based clients in Herndon, VA.

Compliance preparation for all aspects of the filing of the consolidated federal and state income tax returns, extensions and estimated payments for the entire company.
Work with external partners that assist in tax support of compliance processes.
Assist tax manager with compliance of state sales and use tax return processes. Also provide support to operations regarding proper sales and use tax requirements and statutes.
Responsible for compliance of personal property tax returns and unclaimed property processes.
Assist tax manager and coordinate federal and state income and sales/use tax audits.
Prepare gross receipts and other miscellaneous state report filings.
Provide analysis of specific tax impacts of certain company transactions, drive tax planning initiatives and special projects, and provide client service by responding to questions from the divisions and monitoring tax law changes.
Assist in other special projects as needed.


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; CPA, MT or MBT preferred.
3-5 years of tax experience in public accounting and/or in a corporate tax department with increasing responsibility with federal and state tax filings.
Experience with sales, use and property tax.
Experience in applying the principles of ASC 740
Multi-location experience.
Must be a proven analytical thinker with the ability to take initiative.
Strong work ethic and ability to problem solve independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong business acumen and analytical mindset with the ability to implement and facilitate change.
Demonstrated organizational skills and process orientation.
Strong ability to work in changing environment, see through complexity.
Ability to be effective in a highly matrixed environment, to effectively communicate with and influence all levels of the organization and drive change and take action.
Demonstrated successful experience in working in a demanding, high performance work environment and team oriented culture.
Must be able to think and act strategically, but also be willing to “roll up sleeves” for the tax function.
