Senior UI Designer

Adecco Creative and Marketing is currently assisting a children's publishing company located here in NYC in their search for an experienced UI Designer.

This is a long term/indefinite job opportunity, onsite Monday- Friday, approx. 35 hours per week. Pay will depend on experience but will not exceed $60ph.

Candidates must have a minimum of 6 years of UI Design, InVision, and Sketch.

Job description/ day to day:

  • Partner with editorial team to create designs that elevate the products
  • Prototype, iterate, and refine design solutions based on user feedback
  • Working with an existing and Visual System while adding to the brand guidelines
  • Design pages and products for Classroom Magazines 24 websites
  • Design marketing assets
  • Provide and receive critique on design
  • Maintain icon libraries
  • Partner with video and editorial team on design
  • Present work to stakeholder
  • Ability to work photo retouching department
  • Moderate photo research


Job Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Building products from wireframes to final product
  • Understanding of UI principals
  • Front end design
  • Visual designer that is able to design pages for various breakpoints (desktop, tablet, mobile)
  • Presenting design concepts to stakeholder
  • Working with and collaborating UX Designers


Key Skills:

  • Use of Sketch and Zepplin
  • Prototyping in Invision
  • Clear communicator and problem solver
  • Ability to annotate and mark up files for web developers
  • Ability  to carry brand guidelines and maintain brand consistency
  • Photo research


 Specific industry background:

  • Minimum 6-8 years experience in digital
  • Designer with expertise and knowledge in visual design, content strategy, and photo research
  • Previous experience in partnering with editorial
  • Product design execution skills and experience launching mobile and web products
  • Familiarity with Ed-Tech (Google classroom at least)
  • Commission and art direct illustrations
