Service Technician

JOB SUMMARY
The Technician works under the general direction the Service Manager / Lead Mechanic: assist
in the maintenance, repairs, and safe operational standards of aerial equipment as scheduled by
Service Manager; performs familiarization training of rental inventory; responsible for reporting
to Service Manager about Fleet available for rental; performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists in the Maintenance, repairs and safe operational standards of aerial equipment as
scheduled by Service Manager: assists mechanic with breakdown of equipment; spots
equipment malfunctions; tests starts equipment to prepare for use; checks and refills
equipment fluid levels; conducts routine equipment safety checks, cleans returned equipment;
when cleaning equipment look for missing or loose fasteners, parts, etc; lubricate all moving
parts properly with grease and/or oil as necessary.
2. Performs familiarization training of rental inventory: completes checklist with
customer/client and provides a copy to customer; teaches client function of the equipment,
proper loading and unloading of equipment, and range of motion; services equipment on job
site.
3. Responsible for reporting to Service Manager about Fleet available for rental: reports any
parts necessary to complete work order to Service Manager; may assist in the 90 day
manufactory inspections on fleet; ensures equipment is “Ready-to-Rent”.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
2. One to three months related experience and/or training.
3. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
1. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals.
2. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
