Adecco is helping a local catalytic converter manufacturer in Hobart, Indiana. Our client is looking for a Shear Operator with some working experience. Must be able to read measurements, requires math skills, and must have problem solving ability.

Assists in the preparation, cutting, lasering and shearing of metal components used to manufacture catalytic converters
Requires basic math skills, ability to read blueprints and measuring equipment, mechanical aptitude, and basic problem-solving ability.
Performs duties under close supervision.
Assists more advanced employees in mid-level work for development and training.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Ability to read and understand part blue prints.
2.Follow directions for each set-up and operation.
3.Set up and operates power machines to shear, cut or laser metal sheets to specified dimensions and angles.
4.Lays out cut/shear/laser lines on metal, using rule, square, or template
5.Load and unload materials to and from the pressbrake/laser/shear.
6.Lift workpiece to machine bed or roller table and position it against guides and/or stops.
7.Produce materials within prescribed standards for both quality and timeliness.
8.Position metal on turntable to rotate workpiece for bending opposite side
9.Inspect completed work, using tape, gauge, template, or caliper to verify dimensions.
10.Perform basic maintenance necessary to maintain safety, output and quality at all times.
11.Use basic hand tools to align, adjust tighten etc.
12.Operate ancillary equipment such as hoist and notcher as required.
13.Performs other duties such as receiving, marking and putting away material.
14.Basic cleaning, 5S and scrap removal duties
SKILLS:
1.Follow direction provided by Production Manager, Sheet Metal Crew Leader or Supervisor. 2.Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to, and enforcing, all safety procedures and policies inside and outside the facility, including use of personal protective and company equipment as required.
3.Represent employer in a positive manner both internally and externally while adhering to the organization's core values
.4.Ability to complete cross training on other equipment and procedures as determined by management.
