Responsibilities for Shift Supervisor jobs include but are not limited to:

  • Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for safety, quality, planning, directing, evaluating, monitoring and supervising the daily activities on the manufacturing floor to support the goals and objectives according to FDA cGMPs, procedures, established policies and practices.  Position is also responsible for maintaining safety and quality while continuously improving efficiencies
  • Driving improvements to build an Excellent Manufacturing Environment

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives
  • Follow all cGMPs and procedures as defined by policies, practices and procedures to ensure that FDA, ISO regulations and quality standards are met.
  • Lead and motivate staff to obtain Company goals, including defining and communicating expectations and assignments, monitoring results, coaching, motivating and follow up to achieve goals.  Lead in a manner that generates a team-oriented attitude
  • Meet the Production Schedule

  • Own production schedules, managing labor and equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
  • Develop time and production targets and trend shift output, implement improvements
  • Able to run injection molding equipment; troubleshoot issues – train staff on how to properly run our equipment
  • Drives Manufacturing Efficiency

  • Hires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback.  Evaluate performance of subordinate personnel; recommend promotions, disciplinary action, terminations, transfers and other changes in subordinate status according to established policies, practices and procedures on a timely basis
  • Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.
  • Ensure consistency of operations practices across the value stream
  • Utilize Operational Metrics to drive area performance, drive standard product cost reductions, continuous improvement, capacity planning and resource management
  • Continuously review methods, procedures, processes, etc. to determine improvements related to quality and cost to increase efficiencies. Upon approval, make recommendations and implement.
  • Maintain efficiency and quality according to established specifications and procedures
  • Resolve production problems; monitor scrap, efficiency, utilization and inventory
  • Relentless Focus on Safety and Quality

  • Monitor employees, facility, equipment and processes related to safety.  Recommend improvements and, upon approval, implement. Train employees in safety practices
  • Ensures safety of employees by proactively identifying safety concerns, resolving in a timely manner
  • Support production staff in understanding company policies and practices.
  • Accountable for executing to GMP (good manufacturing practices) with the shift team
  • Supervise and motivate subordinates to product products according to quality and cost standards on time, according to GMPs and SOPs.
  • Ensure that all recordkeeping and documentation is completed according to established policies, practices and procedures on time.
  • Drive a Quality-focused culture by monitoring compliance to Quality System processes, such as system transaction accuracy, documentation practices, material segregation, line clearance, etc.
  • Responsible for security of premises, stop/start schedules, after-hours operations through the shift.
  • Own production schedules, managing labor and equipment efficiency, and materials supply.

  • Maintain high level of visibility with production staff, providing change leadership

  • Communicate with other supervisions and appropriate personnel regarding equipment, safety, work center schedules, company policies and practices, performance improvement plans, etc.
  • Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for Shift Supervisor jobs:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead in FDA-regulated environment
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 and cGMP requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience reading and understanding assembly work instructions and engineering specifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 2+ years supervisory experience
