Shipping and Receiving

Adecco Staffing is helping a local client staff a direct hire Shipping/Receiving position. 

Summary: This position is responsible for the proper packaging, labeling, scheduling of products for shipment, as well as the preparation of international and domestic shipping documentation and managing receipt of incoming materials and material storage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily shipment documentation for international and domestic shipment
  • Schedule freight with carriers as required
  • Define harmonized tariff codes for international shipments
  • Prepare products for shipment per customer packaging requirements
  • Prepare purchase requisitions to replenish packaging and shipping supplies
  • Receive and unload freight both manually or with equipment such as a pallet jack and forklift
  • Obtain and maintain certification of forklift operation
  • Identify damaged items by carrier and file claim with carrier
  • Inspect incoming materials per quality requirements
  • Participate in physical inventories and cycle counting
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and clean, organized work area
  • Maintain shipping/receiving SOP

Other Duties:

  • Take responsibility for a safe work environment. Work areas must be inspected on a continual basis, taking appropriate steps to rectify hazards
  • Ability to work flexible hours and/or overtime if required

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to prepare bills of lading
  • Superior listening, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Work, Excel and the ability to learn new computer systems
