Position Summary
This position supervises the Shipping & Receiving department and ensures quality customer service through the efficient operation of the warehouse/ shipping and receiving department to ensure that daily duties are completed as required. The qualifications require an understanding of the standard operating procedures of the shipping and receiving floor. This encompasses not only how to perform a task, but how to organize a task and the employees performing it for a successful end result.

Duties of Position (Noted Essential Functions*)
1. Organizes work load for the shipping and receiving team;*
2. Manages incidents involving behavior and safety violations or other related concerns;*
3. Models flexible attitude and appropriate behavior as described in company employee handbook and code of conduct;*
4. Loads and unloads delivery vehicles to include operating forklift (with proper certification), pallet jack, hand truck, lifting and carrying merchandise and stocking in appropriate areas throughout the warehouse.*
5. Operates fork lift or pallet jack to unload/load pallets and heavier materials (up to 3,000 lbs/pallet).*
6. Verifies quantities of merchandise shipments and receipts (with lot numbers) by comparing merchandise to picking/packing slips, per established SOP�s.*
7. Ability to effectively and accurately use computer to ship packages.*
8. Picks orders from pick tickets and records accurate information on the pick ticket and performs double counts where required. Takes care to ensure that completed pick tickets are returned to the shipping desk;*
9. Loads and unloads delivery vehicles utilizing material handling equipment. Lifts and carries merchandise using proper safety procedures. Stocks in appropriate areas throughout the warehouse;*
10. Receives freight following procedures;*
11. Duties also include the sorting and prioritizing of daily pick orders, creating bills of lading, labeling, copying, calling carrier dispatch for pickups, assisting drivers with piece counts and ensuring drivers sign bills;*
12. Is able to open or lockup of facility as needed;*
13. Works closely with the Transportation Manager and Production Manager on all out-bound and in-bound related tasks and duties;*
14. Trains, coaches, and manages the shipping and receiving team in all policies and standard operating procedures (SOP�s) of the department and company;*

15. Oversees and participates in the timely receipt and distribution of all incoming and outgoing deliveries according to company standards;*
16. Ensures that all shipping and receiving functions that affect inventory are processed accurately by verifying purchase orders and other relevant documentation;*
17. Reviews and audits the overall receiving process for improvements;*
18. Ensures the accurate processing of all returns-to-vendors (RTV's), transfers and damages based on company policies and procedures;*
19. Oversees compliance of receiving practices with established company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of company funds and property, personnel practices, security, and record-keeping procedures;*
20. Effectively communicates with internal business partners including Wholesale Sales Support, various team members in Operations, etc.;*
21. Helps solve problems and make informed decisions that impact the quality of service and productivity of the receiving area;*
22. Assists in the recruitment and hiring of the most qualified applicants to meet the needs of the Shipping & Receiving department;*
23. Actively manages safety and cGMP requirements with S/R team;*
24. Assists in food safety plant audits (e.g., AIB, SQF, etc.);*
25. Maintains a neat and orderly work area;*
26. Prepares small package shipments as needed following procedures;
27. Other duties as assigned.

Back-up Position: Production Manager

This position requires a back-up. In the occasion(s) when this key personnel responsible for designated role(s) is absent, the Production Manager has been trained and assigned as a back-up and can cover their nominated duties to ensure the integrity of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises, coaches, and writes performance evaluations for employees in the Shipping & Receiving department.

Working Conditions
Working conditions which are normal for a manufacturing/warehouse environment. Work may involve lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Working in this environment may at times require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors and work boots.

Education/Training & Experience
? Associate�s degree or a minimum of two years of experience at the Lead Worker or Supervisory level in a manufacturing environment.
? Must be familiar with grocery and foodservice delivery requirements.
? Must have experience with all types of inbound and outbound freight, small package, LTL, truckload, and experience with international shipping.
? Must be creative and have proven organizational, communication, strategic planning, and problem solving skills.

Certifications/Licenses
Industry certification are preferred, but not required.
