Responsibilities for this Shipping & Receivng Clerk include:

The Shipping Clerk records shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting and recordkeeping purposes.
The Shipping Clerk compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
The Shipping Clerk examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
The Shipping Clerk routes items to departments.
The Shipping Clerk examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
The Shipping Clerk requisitions and stores shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
The Shipping Clerk maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
The Shipping Clerk may direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.
The Shipping Clerk prepares documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
The Shipping Clerk determines shipping methods for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
The Shipping Clerk confers and corresponds with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
The Shipping Clerk contacts carrier representatives to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
The Shipping Clerk computes amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage, and demurrage charges, using calculator or price list.
The Shipping Clerk reconcile waybill, bill of lading with bill of materials and actual shipment arrivals.
Ensure that the goods delivered to the warehouse are in accordance with approved orders and the associated bill of lading or invoice.
Accomplish daily goods movement flow and submit to the Shipping Manager.
Maintain the inventory management system to ensure that actual physical inventory matches the database logical inventory.
May operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area
Any other duties assigned by management
