** Training could be days or nights, depending on the availability of trainers. Once training is complete, you will move to your designated night shift (3pm to 11pm) **

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To safely operate Slitter equipment and produce high quality products ensuring customer specifications are being met or exceeded

WORK PERFORMED:

Safely loads & unloads mill rolls using the hoist system.

Accurately packs and labels finished products.

Performs all necessary quality checks and documents results.

Operation and understanding of basic machine controls on at least one type slitter.

Troubleshoots and corrects basic line issues. May need assistance for more complex issues.

Accurately and safely sets razor knives to work order specified widths.

Properly sets and hooks up rewind arms and rider rolls to required roll width.

Performs basic set-up of edge guide system and troubleshoots basic problems.

Keeps accurate records of basic operations including production, downtime and waste.

Fully understands and follows all Berry Plastics safety rules and policies.

Performs miscellaneous tasks as needed by supervisor.

Maintains housekeeping.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

HSD or GED and able to pass pre-screening requirements

Minimum 6 months as Operator in Training

Basic understanding of JDE system.

Good verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to details.

Capable of, and commit to follow the plant and departmental safety procedures, food safety guidelines and ISO procedure

Good communication and organizational skills

Good mathematical skills.

Continuous learning will be expected

Able to work overtime as required
