Social Media Manager

The Social Media Manager will develop and implement social media strategies aimed at attracting prospective students and engaging alumni across all degree programs.

The position is responsible for increasing brand equity and online awareness,

developing benchmark criteria to measure the effectiveness of social media programs, implement improvements as required and deliver timely reports.

Social Media Content Creation & Management

  • Generates, edits, and publishes original content (text, images, videos) targeting prospective students through social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube)
  • Initiates, monitors and responds to social media conversations that provide useful information, engages with key audiences, and enhances RBS pride among stakeholders and the greater community.
  • Launches and manages new social media channels for graduate programs that increase interactions and engagement with prospective students
  • Develops and manages a social editorial calendar to plan when and which content will be shared, manage campaign schedules, and track task deadlines
  • Provides training and guidance to social media student ambassadors who contribute to content creation and account management per program
  • Oversees content created by social media student ambassadors
  • Manages security and access to graduate program social media accounts
  • Optimizes social media profiles for search engine optimization and user-friendliness Moderates user-generated content across each platform

Social Media Strategy

  • Works closely with the Marketing Communications department to develop and implement social media strategies that increase interactions and engagement with prospective graduate students
  • Regularly interfaces with program staff to collectively discuss strategy, assess shifting needs, and report progress.
  • Collaborates with Public Relations Manager, Editorial Media team, Web Content team, and Office of Graduate Admissions on synchronizing social media content around key dates such as open house events and application deadlines.

Social Media Analysis

  • Measures, analyzes, and acts on data insights to continuously improve social media engagement
  • Develops key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge performance against short- and long-term social media goals
  • Monitors social media trends and tools for changes that affect the organization's competitive landscape.
