POSITION: Associate Software Q Engineer
LOCATION: Houston TX 77030
DURATION: 12+ Months
HOURS: 8:00am – 5:00pm
W2 Contract Pay rate: Depends upon experience up to $34.00 per hour

This Associate Software QA Engineer will research and test the design, functionality and maintenance of products, equipment, systems and processes and develop quality standards. Typically you need the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and evaluate product integrity and standards. Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. Be a team player and detail oriented.

Job Responsibilities:

Devise sampling procedures and design and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
Establish program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
May write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
May specialize in areas of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, product reliability, inventory control, metrology, automated testing, software, research and development, and administrative application.

Software Development Activities:

Perform regression and functional testing on existing software products and new software products.
Develop and maintain manual and automated tests according to specifications from higher level staff.
Report, track, and verify fixes for detected problems with software.
Work with technical staff to isolate and reproduce problems with software.

Software Support Activities:

With direction, help to reproduce and resolve customer complaints with software.
Documentation, Collaboration, Coordination and Training:
Work with Technical Support and developers to reproduce bugs and resolve issues.
May assist in review of documentation, which may include user manuals, help documentation, tool tips, and training material.


Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
Experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Experience testing Web Applications.
Familiarity with creating and executing SQL Server queries.
Experience using Visual Studio.
Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum.
Experience with test automation tools is preferred.
Knowledge of one or more scripting languages.
Problem Solving: Complexity of problems

Ability to translate requirements into a solid test cases.
Strong diagnostic skills to track, trouble-shoot, and identify issues.

Communications: Key communications contacts (internal/external) and level of persuasion required

Ability to take direction and work well with others.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent required.
0-2 years experience required
