Sourcing and Commodity Buyer

Responsibilities, Qualifications, & Details:                 

The goal of this project is to ensure successful phase out of a current sheet metal supplier and phase in of new selected potential suppliers through cross-functional collaboration among multiple stakeholders.

 

Job Duties:

  • Work directly with Quality, Engineering, Logistics and After Market Stakeholders to develop, execute and follow up an action plan
  • Ensure deliverables after suppliers’ selection until SOP (Vendor is not responsible for supplier selection but for all subsequent activities until start of production)
  • Monitor, identify and mitigate risks in the Project phase
  • Manage parts and orders in Project phase and ensure a timely part transfer in the system to the Commodity buyer
  • Ensure that the suppliers are prepared for production, including capacity and all needed system updates before SOP
  • Manage Project Performance Reviews with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Provide weekly status updates on Supplier Project Performance to the Commodity buyer
  • Occasional travel required; travel and travel expenses are included within the scope of RFP

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Self-starter, organized and team player professional
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Experience in project management/ planning
  • Ability to work directly and remotely with subject matter experts both in the field, corporate office, suppliers

 

 

Pay Rate:  $27.50hr

Shift Start/End Time:  first shift/general business hours

Length of Assignment:  6 months
