We are hiring for a Production Set Up Operator / Spot Welders to work on an amazing team with our client. As a Production Set Up Operator you will set up and operate resistance welders to produce quality welds meeting all customer specification. This client is a manufacturer of specialized band clamps, v-band couplings, flanges, ducting components and a variety of other fabricated products for all industries.  If you enjoy production and have related work experience, you’re a perfect fit.

 

 

Here’s a preview of what you’ll be working on as a Production Set Up Operator

  • Perform a variety of duties to operate resistance welding equipment to spot weld following established methods and procedures.
  • Examine work pieces for defects.
  • Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications.
  • Complete work instruction sheet and ensure all paperwork is available and prior operations are signed off.
  • Review work order, print requirements, and reference spot welding set up book for all fixtures and materials to successfully complete order.
  • Obtain proper pull test material, weld first piece, and submit for inspection.
  • Reference weld specification requirements and ensure weld strengths fall within expected ranges.
  • Ensure all safety guarding is in proper working order and safety sign-off sheets are completed daily.
  • Perform preventative and general maintenance on machinery.
  • Clean machines and work area.
  • Report all non-conforming material to the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to six months related experience and/or training
  • Due to the use of on-site equipment, attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Ability to inspect work completed.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols.
  • Participates in team meetings as required (safety, problem solving, etc.).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read basic measuring devices including micrometers and calipers.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Must possess good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

This is a Direct Hire full time position with overtime as needed.  Pay rate is $12 + based on experience.
