Location: Princeton, New Jersey

 

The Sr. Buyer is required to create specifications, procure and contract for materials, equipment, supplies and services of a tactical or complex nature with minimal supervision. Broad commodity knowledge required with specific emphasis leading tactical and strategic procurement related projects for Outsourced Logistics/Operational initiatives and multifaceted Facilities/Construction requirements. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions, investigate and develop new sources of supply, prepare bid specifications, issue RFP’s/RFQ’s, negotiate terms and conditions, maintain contracts in an online system, and perform all applicable purchase order functions in the PeopleSoft system
  • Negotiates, writes, and executes tactical, strategic, facilities, construction, warehousing and building contracts after receipt of SBU/FCE authorization
  • Build cooperation and common ground among suppliers, outsourced suppliers, and internal clients to achieve positive results.
  • Negotiate, and procure materials, equipment, supplies, and often, strategic services of a specialized or complex nature for a variety of commodities and develop strategic partnerships with suppliers with a focus on cost savings and maximum productivity.
  • Utilize the Ariba Contract Management and the Docusign systems for all contract entry/approvals, select purchase order approvals, and maintenance.
  • Utilizes the RFx Hosted Service tool from e3 Sourcing for bidding requirements.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or commensurate appropriate business experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree

 

Candidates should meet the following requirements for consideration:

 

  • 5 - 7 yrs. of progressively responsible procurement experience in operational and facilities.
  • Experience working on construction related procurement initiatives
  • Excellent contract writing and negotiating skills
  • Proficient use of most MS Office applications and document creation and management system (Ariba and e-RFX systems) and knowledge of PeopleSoft or comparable software.
  • Advanced business communication skills in both written and verbal form with an ability to write about technical subjects clearly and concisely
  • People skills: a team player, comfortable contributing and listening
  • CPSM or CPM certification a plus.
