A Sr. Executive/Manager - Research Laboratory Operations position based out of the Long Island, NY area is currently available through Adecco Medical and Science. In this role, you will work under the direction of the President. The Laboratory Manager is the Senior Executive responsible for all business activities within the laboratory, as defined by the contractual documents, and the goals and objectives assigned by the President and the Board of Directors. The Laboratory Manager works successfully within a matrix organizational structure designed to achieve productivity standards, performance to budget, and service excellence. This includes full P&L responsibility and overall responsibility for on-boarding, retention, and quality service for all accounts.

The Sr. Executive/Manager - Research Laboratory Operations job responsibilities include:

Develops for approval by the Board of Directors, short and long-term business plans to on-board and service all existing and acquired accounts.
Develops and monitors budgets, under Board of Directors approval.
Monitors Member Laboratories compliance with Minimum Operating Standards. Takes necessary steps to ensure correction of deviations from these standards.
Ensures all Board of Directors required reporting is performed on a timely basis including financial, operational, and strategic reports.
Monitors the entire laboratory operations cycle at Member Laboratories for clients (including phlebotomy, logistics, processing, patient services, client services, reporting, technical, supplies, and billing), including the IT infrastructure necessary to accomplish these activities.
Recommends actions to improve any facet of the laboratory operations cycle necessary (including phlebotomy, logistics, processing, patient services, client services, reporting, technical, supplies, and billing) to ensure client satisfaction for clients at Member Laboratories.
Works within the matrix organization with responsible department heads to implement all recommendations.
Monitors capacity necessary to handle current and projected workloads and recommends and monitors implementation of necessary enhancements, including staffing, facilities, and equipment.
Effectively communicates (oral and written) with Member Laboratory clients and staff to ensure the successful fulfillment of company missions.
Conducts business in an ethical and professional manner in compliance with all laws, regulations and policies.
Demonstrates professional attributes that show commitment as an executive leader.
Ensures President is fully apprised of all activities.
Attends organizational meetings as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and relevant job experience to include all facets of clinical laboratory operations.
Master’s Degree in business or healthcare management desirable.
Minimum 10 years’ experience commercial clinical laboratory experience with at least 5 years in a senior operational or executive leadership position.
Prior experience in management of all aspects of lab business to include finance, operations, marketing/sales, client services, total quality management, technical and medical director service.
Ability to effectively interact with Board of Directors, Member Laboratory executive, administrative, and operational teams, and clients.
Demonstrated strategic and analytic thinking skills, and ability to implement strategic plans.
Strong written communication, interpersonal communication, and public speaking skills.
Strong organizational and detail implementation skills.
Demonstrated motivational skills to work within the matrix organization to organize, structure, trouble shoot, and maintain efficiency of outreach lab services, and effect positive change within a growing company.
Technically sound understanding of clinical laboratory science and diagnostic testing, including pre- and post-analytical operations.
