Sr. Financial Analyst - Supply Chain

Our client, a manufacturing company near Itasca, is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst for their supply chain and transportation department on a full-time, permanent basis.

Position Overview


The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of our client's team with dual responsibility of Transportation & Finance Analytics. The successful candidate would report to the Finance Manager of the Transportation & Supply Chain department. The candidate will focus his/her efforts towards driving down transportation cost within our client's network and improving efficiencies in the supply chain. The Analyst will work to develop reports and improve data driven processes to increase business intelligence and operational efficiency. This position will require an indepth knowledge of all Microsoft products and database creation and management. Additionally, time management, attention to detail, organization and ability to interface internally with all levels of the organization are required. This role will provide decision and planning support backed by financial and data analysis working with several teams in the Operations Group including Transportation, Inventory Planning and Procurement in US, Canada & Mexico.

Summary of Responsibilities

Develop and publish key metrics by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Manage data in the transportation management system such as carrier rate tables, routing guides, and contracts.
Drives financial performance by offering insights and recommending actions to management based on comparison and analysis of actual results vs. previous periods and forecasts.
Lead transportation cost variance analysis and identify trends.
Lead annual budgeting process and annual operating plan for transportation costs.
Lead the economic evaluation and business case analysis for cost savings projects. Also track and evaluate performance of current projects vs. business case.
Analyses of data trend to anticipate shifts in operational performance.
Analyze network changes and the corresponding impact on cost. Improve systems/processes by studying current practices; designing modifications.

Advanced with Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
Experience with Tableau is a plus


Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering or relevant area
Minimum 2 years relevant experience
Experience in budgeting, FP&A & data analysis
Consumer Goods, Retail, Logistics or Manufacturing industry experience is desirable
Ability to work overtime as needed
Travel is required
