Sr. Process Development Engineer – Baltimore, MD Area
$115,000-$125,000 + 14% Bonus

Seeking a Senior Process Development Engineer based near Baltimore, MD. In this role you will be responsible for process development and process scale-up for new or improved manufacturing processes.

Required Experience:

The Sr. Process Development Engineer will have 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and R&D, new product development and innovation.
Developing and implementing new technology from laboratory/ commercialization scale to production/ manufacturing scale.
Solve chemical and process engineering problems related to the development and scale-up of new manufacturing process concepts, including concepts related to more efficient manufacturing processes.
Leading cross-functional teams – operations, business and technology to drive new product introduction, capacity and quality improvement projects for resins and chemicals industry.
Direct experience with silica gel, alumina, zeolite, refining catalyst, organometallic catalyst or related inorganic materials.
Experience with commercial scale chemical reaction, washing, drying, milling, classification unit operations.
Leading productivity projects in a manufacturing environment to improve quality, lower cost and increase rates.
Extensive experience effectively communicating projects updates, progress, risks, options, barriers and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills & Education:

BS, MS, PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Material Science
Direct experience with alumina, hydroprocessing catalysts, zeolites or related inorganic materials is a plus
Demonstrated ability to apply Statistical techniques (DOE, Regression, Anova, SPC, Hypothesis Test, Process Capability Studies) for process development and process improvement.
Lean Six sigma trained
5-10 years’ experience in process development or manufacturing in chemical process industry.
Project Management skills, ability to successfully handle multiple projects using self-directed work management style.
Strong background in chemistry and engineering fundamentals. Candidate must be able to apply fundamental engineering concepts to develop robust technical solutions for implementation in commercial manufacturing operation.
